About this list
- Officially named only. Every site here appears in a gov.uk factsheet or official statement. Individual hotels, which are not officially mapped, are excluded by design.
- Capacity. Marked official only where the factsheet states a number; other figures are press or inspectorate reported and labelled as such.
- Status reflects the latest position: open, planned (proposed, subject to planning/feasibility), closed, or cancelled/never opened.
- School distances on each site page are objective straight-line distances to DfE-registered schools; the government's "not near schools" guidance states no official distance.
