What happens on release day
Official statistics go live on gov.uk at 9:30am. The dashboards on this site are refreshed against the new detailed datasets the same day, and every figure is reconciled against the Home Office's own summary tables before publication. The Home Office quarterly (next: 27 August 2026) is the big one: it refreshes returns, foreign national offender, asylum, small boats and detention data in one release. On 26 November 2026 the Home Office quarterly and the ONS net migration estimates land on the same morning.
About these dates
- 9:30am rule. UK official statistics are released at 9:30am under the Code of Practice for Statistics; pre-release access is limited and logged.
- Provisional dates move. Publishers announce a provisional month first, then confirm the exact date roughly four weeks out. This page tracks the announcements weekly.
- Coverage lag. Each quarterly covers the year ending the previous quarter: the 27 August 2026 release covers the year ending June 2026.
